1st. Programs for Admission
The school has three doctoral programs: mechanics, civil engineering, and engineering management, four academic master's programs: mechanics, civil engineering, emergency technology and management, and urban and rural planning, and three professional master's programs: civil engineering and water conservancy (civil engineering), and architecture. Currently, there are 43 supervisors for Ph.D candidates and 83 supervisors for master's candidates, with a student enrollment of more than 1,400.
The methods of admission for master's degree include: undergraduate exemption, general recruitment; the enrollment methods for Ph.D degree include: Integrated Bachelor's and PhD program, consecutive master's and PhD program, application-based assessment, general entrance examination. The research directions under the field of civil engineering include: smart new materials and new technologies for structural systems, geotechnical mechanics and engineering, rock dynamics and rock engineering, theory and technology of soft rock engineering, theory and technology of deep underground engineering disaster control, tunnel and underground space engineering, etc.
2nd. Details for talents cultivation
Aiming at the forefront of disciplines and key areas, we comprehensively enhance the quality of innovative talent cultivation. In addition to common courses such as English and mathematics, as well as specialized courses in specific fields, the training programs of each major also offer characteristic courses such as international cutting-edge courses and courses on the development of disciplinary frontiers. Among them, international cutting-edge courses invite foreign experts to give academic lectures online or offline, broadening students' academic horizons. The school also organizes the "Zhi Shan Cup" PhD Forum once a year, where graduate students within the school can actively participate and engage in academic exchanges.
In addition, we actively organize students to participate in various academic activities both on and off campus to enhance their academic and research abilities. In order to broaden students' professional perspectives, we have jointly established 12 professional master's graduate practice bases with many enterprises and institutions.
3rd.Scholarship System
The university has a comprehensive scholarship system that covers all students. The academic scholarships are as follows: for master's students, there are scholarships of 6,000 RMB, 8,000 RMB, and 10,000 RMB; for PhD students, there are scholarships of 12,000 RMB, 15,000 RMB, and 18,000 RMB. Additionally, there are financial aid scholarships of 6,000 RMB for master's students and 15,000 RMB for PhD students. Furthermore, if the academic achievements of students rank in the top 2% of their respective programs, the students can receive national scholarships of 20,000 RMB for master's students and 30,000 RMB for PhD students.
4th. Graduation Process
When applying for a graduate degree, students are required to write a thesis and undergo blind review by experts. After the blind review is passed, a defense is organized. During the defense process, in order to ensure fairness, the supervisor is required to avoid involvement.
